ROCK ISLAND, ILL - Margay Racing's Ignite spec racing package will be featured in the second annual Margay Ignite Shootout at this year's Xtreme Rock Island Grand Prix powered by Mediacom, Sept. 3-4. This year the Ignite Shootout will feature both a Senior and Junior class.
The Ignite package, which features a spec chassis and the popular Briggs & Stratton LO206 sealed engine, has proven to be very popular with racers new to the sport of karting. It allows racers to have a dependable kart and motor that offer great racing thrills right out of the box.
The goal of the spec Ignite class is to create a clear-cut, affordable entryway into karting with a product and class that is conducive to developing the skills of entry level karters in a user friendly environment. The spec class format minimizes the emphasis on equipment costs and technical knowledge and maximizes emphasis on driver development. Tires, wheels, clutch, clutch driver, engine, exhaust and chassis are all specified. Sales show it to be a popular, cost-effective option for getting into karting.
