Rock Island Grand Final Meeting Note

The Rock Island Grand Prix organizing committee had its final pre-race meeting Tuesday night. While there was much discussion, the decision was made to continue to provide the top-quality event which competitors and spectators have come to expect.

We believe in the long run this is what is best for our event and the sport of karting.

There will be no classes dropped or combined due to low turnout. There will be no changes in purse payout beyond what is already outlined in the rules. There will be NO rules changes - specifically, no changes in published tire brands and compounds.
There will be no weight adjustments beyond the one change announced earlier this summer with respect to the Rok motor competition weight in TAG classes.

Competitors, however, can expect changes for 2009. Classes with few entries likely will not be retained next year.
